30gb ipod video won't turn on

I just bought a used 30gb ipod video. The first day it worked fine, then the battery went low and it froze on the "please wait very low battery" symbol. I reset it and now it won't do anything, it's just a blank screen. It is not recognized on my computer or itunes. I was charging it with my sisters usb adapter for her mp3, it is not meant for ipods but I thought it would work. Please help me, I really want my ipod to work.

I Got my IPOD Video (30GB) in november 2006 One year later it just turned off... i sent for it to get fixed... it came back working fine full battery and every thing. Then when i went to put songs on it, it said file missing, so i removed it.The it said on the ipod screen low battery so i charged it for an hour but it still didnt work, then i realize that it was turning itself off when it went to charge ... so all i get is Please wait very low Battery after that it goes to the apple sign then just turns off... What do i need to do? it just keeps repeating. HELP!!

You may STILL need to reset it.
Put the hold switch to the OFF/White position. Now toggle it ON/orange then back off again. Then press and hold both the MENU and center buttons on the iPod and hold them for a good 15 seconds or so. Your iPod should reboot starting with the Apple Logo screen.
If it doesn't work the first time, give it a second or third go. Sometimes it takes a few/several tries.
See this thread as an example of what I mean by needing to try it many times...
