Bluetooth with Mercedes Benz C300 - Echo Problems

When making a call using the handsfree car kit (MB C300) the person receiving the call has a horrible echo which, according to them, is so bad they can't stand to talk. I can't hear it on my end. I have tried turning the volume down on the phone and in the car which helped a little but did not fix the problem.

Any ideas about how this situation can be fixed? I am hoping it is just a simple setting adjustment on the phone.

Thanks

I have new C350 and had the same problem with my iphone. I played around with the setting on the transmission and reception levels in the car. I made reception -2 and transmission 0. I then made sure the volume on the actual iphone (when on a call with bluetooth) was all the way up. This fixed the issue. I think you just have to fiddle with it to figure out what works for you.

I just purchased the handsfree MBZ bluetooth for my Iphone for my E350, 2007 model, and it immediately synced my contact list from A-P, then never went beyond that. I have 1600 contacts, but I made a separate group on my Iphone of 485 contacts, but I don't think the remote system can integrate that smaller list.
The remote only seems to sync the entire list. If anyone has had a similar
problem or knows how to solve this one, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks.

Anyone else get a dealership update on their Mercedes C300 software? My 2008 C300 works great with original iPhone except address book doesn't sync. Also, has ANYONE had success with 3G in a 2008 C300? I would like to upgrade but have not read any message where a 3G has worked with a C300. thanks, ralph

There is actually a fix now that they can do at the dealership. I was having the issue and brought it in.. they new about it right away and said there was a bulletin out on the issue to the dealerships. They had to upgrade some software.. so far no more issues.
