listening via head phones

Question

listening via head phones

OK... I know this is silly but no matter what headphones I plug into my iphone, when I try to play music, it STILL plays from the speakers... is there a setting that I just don't know about?

Your headphones probably aren't in all the way. The recessed jack on the iPhone means that for the majority of headphones you will need an adapter.

Wow.. thank you for answering so quickly. Are you stating that my iphone requires special earphones due to the "plug"??? 🙂 😟

No. I am saying that the plug on the end has to be small enough to fit in the recessed headphone jack.

Belkin makes one. Its $10 at the Apple store

DO the earphones that came with the iPhone work? If so then Ansuz82's statement that others need the adapter is correct, if they do not then it could be something else. (Just wondering since you said no matter which headphones you plug in...)
