Can't drag and drop to iPhone. All songs greyed out
I tried setting "Auto Sync" off in Preferences. All songs greyed out on iphone's "Music" list in iTunes. Cannot remove individual songs or add individual songs like on iPod. I can access the iPhone "Music" tab and activate and deactivate playlist and then sync the playlist but what ever happened to drag and drop? Is that feature disabled in iPhone?
I converted all my songs, in my iTunes library, to AAC, thinking that may have been the cause of the songs list being greyed out in itunes, but "NO JOY".......
Thanks

The iPhone does not support disk mode which is required for this. You transfer and remove iTunes content via syncing which can be done with a Playlist or Playlists.
There is no drag and drop option for syncing music to the iphone. You must sync via itunes. You can create a playlist for your iphone and sync only that playlist, if you so choose.
You can also choose to sync checked items only. This is what I do instead if playlists because I rarely use playlists. Just put a checkmark next to what music you want to sync and then on the iPhones summary page, put a checkmark next to sync checked items only.
Not sure if this is due the 1.1.3 iPhone update, the 7.6 iTunes update, or both... but in the Summary tab in iTunes when iPhone is connected... there is a checkbox for manually managing music and videos that will remedy this issue.
