Alltel wireless?

I have an Alltel mobile and they have a new service for internet, it's little flash drive that you put into your computer and your supposed to get internet service wherever there is phone service. I was speaking to Alltel but the guy wasn't able to tell me much for Macs because he had never used one. I have an Airport card and can go to a Wi-Fi spot and work just fine. It's just that I don't have a home phone and the Wi-Fi spots in my town are few and far between. If anyone knows if it would work or anywhere to guide me, it would be must appreciated.
