no longer will encourage others to use new iMovie

I work as a multimedia teacher in a large school in Australia, and use iMovie every single day with students. I have been a huge supporter of iMovie in the past, but Apple has really messed up with this "new" iMovie. What were you thinking, really? If you just improved the better version of iMovie by adding more themes, and KEPT the chapter markers, and perhaps added the ability to add another layer of video, you would have an unbelievably simple product that would have a huge following of supporters. Now you have a product that *****, and that is coming directly from the mouths of students.

You have too many supporters for the old version - please upgrade it and rename this new program something completely different, like eMovie so as not to confuse and disappoint so many people that rely on the prior but better version.

Hi Scott

Your frustration shared and 100% understood.

A. Apple employee/developer doesn't necesasary view this forum !
It is a User to User forum.

B. If You had iLife 6 - Your iMovie HD 6 is in the folder "iMovie previous versions"
in Application folder.
You need to upgrade this to 6.0.4 to make it work if You installed iLife08.
If not: You are as iLife08 owner entitled to download iMovie HD 6 from Apple.

C. Yes iM08 is severly wrong named ! But the rest of iLife08 is in my opinion
well worth it's dollars. Especially iDVD08 where You now can set burn-speed down to
x1 and yield a much more error free DVD disk (can be played on more devices)
And the Pro-Encoding-Quality is something I value.
