How to Make Alias of External Hard Drive ?

Hi,

I'm trying to make an alias of an external hard drive of mine.

Leopard isn't letting me do that.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Is the Volume mounted on the Desktop? If so, you should be able to make an alias from there using the conventional methods of either the File menu or keyboard shortcut of Command + L.

Make sure you have set your Finder Preferences to show external drives on the desktop. Also, check to be sure you have write privileges to your own Desktop.
