Macbook pro dead, except for three blinking lights

My brand new (1 day!!!!!) Macbook Pro died on me. Suddenly when I was gonna start it, nothing happened, except for the rest-light blinking for three times, pausing, then blink three times again (..and again and again).

Couldnt find much info on it except some suspected broken RAM. Can anyone confirm this or know of another reason?

Help is very appreciated!

2x2.7 G5, Imac, Macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

You're right, it's likely to be a problem with RAM, did you put some new sticks in yourself? If so try removing them and put the original one(s) back ...

Have you tried holding down the power button until the blinking light stops, then rebooting while holding down the shift key? That puts you into safe mode. From there you can insert your system dvd, boot into it while holding down the H key to run hardware test.
