conduit manager not found

Suddenly I get the message from "transport manager" that the "conduit manager cannot be found' when I try to sync my new palm tungsten E2. The message says to place it in the same folder as Hotsync manager- it is already. Any ideas- it means I have to manually open conduit manager prior to a hotsync. Kind of a pain
