LaCie d2 quadra won't power up with auto mode????

I have not noticed this - I turn off the power to everything when I shutdown the computer.
However, while the blue light stays on before I turn off the power, the drive itself is not running.
The LaCie does sleep between TM backups, so it may be that the blue light simply indicates it is available.
If I eject the drive the blue light stays on until I unplug the cable, so the automatic mode may keep the drive in some quasi-sleep state between uses.

When I do power up the system in the morning, the LaCie does turn on along with everything else.

Mine does power down but only after a very long time, like two minutes or so.

First I thought it didn't but it does.

Could you be please more specific? Do you mean the drive won't power up? Is the blue light off or on? Do you mean plug/unplug the power brick wall socket?

The Quadra is designed so the blue light stays on except in the off position.

Its a shame the blue light cannot be turned off. It kinda bug me.
