McAfee VirusScan for Mac version 8.6 (build 234)

I have just moved to Leopard from Tiger via Archive and install route. I have installed a copy of McAfee VirusScan for Mac version 8.6 (build 234). All appears to be well. However I was looking in Console and noticed the messages below. Do I have a problem, or is this normal operation. Also, do I need to be running antivirus software, and if so, which one would users recommend?
Thanks in advance. Phil

First of all, you don't really need an antivirus. There are (currently) no viruses which affect Macs. If you want to scan for windows viruses, why not use ClamXav? It's free.

Regarding McAffee, if the antivirus came with an installer, try installing the software again and uninstalling from the uninstaller.
