I need a right control key on my MBP!!!

Question

I need a right control key on my MBP!!!

Ok, I've seen plenty of software to remap the keys on a Mac, but none of them will do what I want. I need to remap either the right command key or the small enter key next to it to be the right control key. It can't be the left control key, it must be the right control.

Any thoughts?

PS, as somebody who was an Apple guy, then went to the dark side, then came back, when did we stop calling it the "open apple" key?

MacPro MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5)

I am confused by your question. If you are trying to create the equal of a "right" click on the Windows mouse, the "ctrl" key on the MAC as you click the mouse opens the contextual menus that the right mouse click would open. If you're trying to do something else, then I can't help you.

Ok, here is the truth, I need the right control key. I'm playing a flash game that uses right-control + left click to "use" an item in the game. It works in windows, and on my MP that has a right control key. If I use the left control, you are right, it acts as a right-click, which in flash, opens a flash menu.

It's never been the "open Apple" key on Macs, only on earlier Apple machines IIRC.

I don't think it's possible to remap either of those two keys, the physical wiring of the keyboard prevents it AFAIK. Plugging in an external keyboard might be one solution, though.

There is no right CTRL button. How can we help you with that?

Hook up a USB keyboard and use that.

Thank you to everybody who has posted replies. I think that nearly any key can be remapped, except for hardware keys like the power button. All keyboards are subject to keyboard layouts, which tell the computer what key code to send the OS when a certain key is depressed. Windows has plenty of key remapping utilities, and I have seen a few for MacOS, but they are all limited to specific keys, not ANY key.

Older Macs used to have Open Apple (an apple that isn't filled in) and Closed Apple (one that is black).
