Printer "Supply levels" option produces no info

Hi,

Just upgraded from Tiger to leopard. But now I can't use the supply level check utility. If I go to System Pref and Printers, I see my printer and it has the latest driver installed. But when I go to supply levels, the info does not pull the data from the printer. It says "information Not Available".

Thanks,

Greg

You could try removing and re-adding the same printer, but I suspect your problem is that the current "Leopard compatible" driver you have just doesn't implement that function yet.

Some of the printer and scanner vendors are scrambling to get drivers out now and some of the ones they are putting out work for the generic printing functions but not for some of the more printer-specific specialized features yet.

You might try sending a question to your printer vendor to see if they claim their current driver SHOULD support that function at the moment or not.

Also try power cycling your printer to see if it publishes that information afterwards.
