Maximum memory question

Hello, I own an iMac G5, 2.1 Ghz 20 inch with iSight. It came with 1GB of RAM.

Is there a maximum RAM size that I can upgrade to? I'm thinking of buying two 2GB chips, boosting the total to 4GB...

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

The iSight comes with a 512 chip soldered in, the maximum you can add is a 2GB chip to the empty slot, for a total of 2 1/2 GB.

Interesting. I was contemplating buying the RAM from this website:

They seem to indicate the upgrade can be 2GB + 1GB for a total of 3GB.

Are you suggesting in order to do this, the soldering must be "undone". Don't think I want to tinker with that...!
