Max Hard Drive Size

Question

Max Hard Drive Size

For a 800 MHz iMac G4 what is the Max 3.5" HD Capacity Possible. Does it have the 128 GB limit?

No, there is no limit.

You shouldn't have any problems with any IDE (not SATA) drive on the market.

hello mr totes, ypu have been helpful in the past with upgrade issues i've had, so i hope this will be easy for you. i bought a pata/100 hd to install on my imac. can i use it or do i need an ide hd? thanking you in advance, mcrat

I'm sure my next statement is not 100% true but it's true enough: ATA/100 = IDE. So that drive will be just fine.

I just posted the thread about upgrade success.

I used a Seagate 320 GB PATA/100 drive with no problem. All 300 GB was recognized.
