Album Covers on Nano 3rd Generation

I downloaded a number of albums to my Nano 3rd generation from a friend's computer who uses an add on to Windows Media. The album covers from this download all appeared in the cover flow on my Nano. Today I downloaded an album from my computer using iTunes. My iTunes is set to manual and I did the download by dragging an album I had previously burned onto iTunes to my Ipod. Then iTunes checked the volume on all of the songs I had downloaded from my friend's computer and then synced the one album I had burned to iTunes onto the Ipod. Then when I went to my Ipod Nano most of the covers from the albums I had downloaded to the Ipod from my friend's computer had disappeared although all the albums and songs are still on the ipod.

Can anyone tell me what steps I could take to get the album covers back onto my Ipod? Thanks.

The only way to get it back is to redownload the album artwork and embed it into the audio files so that it won't ever be lost. I recommend MediaMonkey. It's a very good software to embed album artwork into your files. Does not work with AAC audio formats though - I think. Make sure you get version 3 of MediaMonkey - can be found in the website's beta testing forum. Older versions don't work with 3G nano. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. It sounds promising.

However, the music from my friend's computer is only on my 3rd generation Nano. So do I have to first put the music onto my computer to incorporate the art work and then put it back onto my Nano? If so, how would I do this ,particularly getting the music from the Nano to the computer? Or can I simply use Media Monkey to download the art work directly to the Nano.

Yes, as you can tell, I'm new at all this and appreciate your input.
