file sharing via IPX/SPX protocol

Hello, is it possible to use file sharing on a mac with macos 9 and connect to a pc over the ipx protocol used in some windows machines? I cannot use TCP/IP. Thank you.

Not really. Support for IPX can only be added to a Mac by installing Novell's ancient Netware client software for MacOS - and even then, it only provides support for file access to older Novell Netware servers.

Peer-to-peer file sharing with PCs in MacOS 9.x and older is not built in. It needs to be added with the use of third-party (commercial) software - like DAVE. It requires use of TCP/IP.

Incidentally - why can you not use TCP/IP?
