HP K80 driver for Leopard

HP K80 driver for Leopard

Is there a driver available that will enable an HP K80 to print from MacBook running Leopard? HP doesn't seem to offer much for Macs. I get nothing from their support techs. I'm running a virtual XP Pro machine with VMware Fusion. I loaded my HP K80 software for windows on the virtual side and it prints fine, but I get nothing from the Mac side. Any thoughts?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Supposed to be included in 10.5:

You're right. A Gutenprint driver for the HP K80 is included in Leopard. I selected the printer in system preferences, added it, and selected the driver from the list. It seems to all be good. It acts like it's printing (no error messages) but the printer doesn't respond.

That happens with some HPs because they use nonstandard USB. Try the alternate USB driver "usbtb:"

Thanks. I downloaded usbtb, but it would not install. I get a prompt to run postflight script for usbtb, and a message to contact the software producer. I did that, haven't gotten a response yet. Stay tuned.

I cannot get my HP OfficeJet K80 to work with my brand new MacBook Pro running 10.5.1. I set the correct driver from the options provided by Apple. I press print and nothing comes out of my printer. Can anyone help?

Perhaps your download was corrupted. Try downloading again. The usbtb software is fully compatible with Leopard.

I do not feel that usbtb will help with your device, however. You will probably need to use a parallel to usb adapter to get this OfficeJet to work. See http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs-USB
