Custom document size

I have Pages 08 (3.0.1). I have tried to make a custom document size, specifically a custom size envelope. After I create it in page setup>manage custom sizes, the custom size choice I created is grayed out in the menu. Does anyone know if this is a bug or am I missing something somewhere? I am trying to create a mail merge with Christmas card envelopes whose size requires a custom setting. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes that can work, but one thing is that I want to write them out to Mr and Mrs which doesn't work though address book and the other is that no matter what custom page size I create, it is grayed out, which means custom page is completely unusable(so why would it even be a choice?) so there must be a bug or I as doing something wrong,

Well...

I know it will not mess up the alphabetical listing because it uses the last name to keep that in order.

Are you trying to do this...

Mr. Joe Smith & Mrs. Bev Smith
1234 Main St.
Anytown, State, 12345

Is that what you are trying to do...? Or this...

Mr. & Mrs. Joe Smith
1234 main St.
Anytown, State, 12345

Once you have these names in a holiday card list, you can edit them anyway you like and their sister contacts in other lists will not change.

I don't know what else to tell you at this point.

I hope you are able to get this done in time for the mail to get to them.

Good Luck.

I am mistaken. Sorry about that.

You will have to enter all new info for your Xmas Card list. If you copy or drag existing contacts, then it will change their info in the original group.

When I was trying to do this earlier, it appeared to me that original info was not changing. Maybe it wasn't keeping up with how fast I am or something.

I will leave feedback myself, because this could be improved upon. At least make it so the info from one group does not change what is in the other. At least the option to designate differently.

Once again, sorry for the misinformation.

Good Luck.

Hi Zenmaccer,

I don't suppose it would bring you much comfort to know that I just tried creating a custom paper size and it works fine, in Pages where I created it using Inspector, and in other Apps where it is now available for page and print setup.

If the custom paper size is visible but not available, perhaps it's a context issue. What were you doing when you determined your paper size definition to be unavailable? I wonder if the OS thinks the custom paper size is out of the capability range of the printer you have selected.
