OS 9.2.2 Time Sync

Having an issue with time sync. I can sync a computer #1 with an external time source (no issues). But then I want to sync several other computers #1, they won't sync. The IP address of computer #1 is correctly entered in "Use a Network Time Server" and "Set Time Now" button is selected; the clock appears (it seems to be doing work!), but the "Clock was last synchronized at..." doesn't update nor does the time. I can enter the same external time source IP address that is used for computer #1 on these computers and they will update! Any thoughts!

That's what to do. If all your computers are synched to the same external server, they'll all be synched with each other too.

"Use a network time server" in the Date & Time control panel is designed to get the time from any of several public time servers on the Internet, not from a local server.

Does OS X work the same way...?

I have assumed it does, but now that you ask, I can't swear that that's true. In the OS X 10.3.5 Date & Time pane of System Prefs, there's a checkbox for "Set date & time automatically", and beside it is a pull-down menu of source options. There are three: Apple Americas/US (time.apple.com), Apple Asia (time.asia.apple.com), and Apple Europe (time.europe.apple.com). Sounds to me like you don't get to choose your own in-house time server (unless, perhaps, you have software that adds that capability, and you deselect the Mac OS X option).
