They don't support OS9.
I am the Mac tech at our college and we are using OS 10.4.3 on all our machines. One lab has older SCSI to USB adapters that the company no longer makes a driver for. Short of the department spending 6K on an upgrade to the interfaces they may want to roll back the OS to 9. I really don't want to do this as I see it as only a workaround and want them to mave up to Tiger. So what is Apples official stance on OS 9 support?

What kind of SCSI device are you referring to? Even in Mac OS 8 or 9 there can be some unseen issues but so little is known about the specific device. $6,000 seems awful pricy for SCSI interfaces. Care to spill some beans on that?

They are Pasco Explorer GLX 700 interfaces. Used in our Physics lab to hook up multiple measuring devices that send measurements and data a the application Data Studio. They were used years ago and hooked up with a 25 pin SCSI port. We went to leasing our Macs 3 years ago. I specced out the eMac 700 which only came with USB and firewire, our department bought adapters from Adaptec to convert them to USB. Adaptec does not make a driver for OS X as stated on their web site.
Pasco does make the same interface same modle 750 that is USB, they are 660.00 a peice. THere are 10 machines in the lab, hence the 6K price tag.

Is OS 9 still supported
