Can't quit iTunes 7.5: immediately relaunches

Every time I try to quit iTunes, it immediately re-launches. The only way I can permanently close the program is to force-quit.

I did an "archive and install" upgrade from 10.4 to 10.5. I didn't have any problems with iTunes. However, I was having problems connecting to my school's 802.1X network, so I reformatted my hard drive and did a clean install of OS X 10.5, then got all available software updates.

I tried downloading iTunes from apple.com and running that installer; same result.

Wow, we've got a stubborn computer here. I want to find the underlying problem here. So I would recommend that you use that Guest account that comes with Leopard and see if this problem replicate in the other account. If it doesn't, then that means this is only the current account. If that happens, I recommend doing an archive and install.
