I am running 10.4.11 with a network home directory hosted by OS x Server 10.4.11. I am trying to sync contacts between Entourage and Address Book. I have checked this in the Entourage preferences, however, I cannot get iSync to open. The icon animates indefinitely in the dock, but does not open. I tried deleting all preference and application support files located in /Library and ~/Library that I could find, but to no avail.
I have the same problem, I am trying to sync my W580i with ical using Isync 2.4 on tiger 10.4.11. isync opens and after 5-10 sec. crashes.. any advice ? I just went through the all pacific + CD install to have the 2.4 version and it doesn't open GRRRR..
I am having problems too. iSync used to work but I removed PocketMac for Blackberry and iSync is no longer working. I no longer have the shinny sync icon. The app shows up in the application folder but the icon is a generic one. When I click on the icon it appears to launch but nothing happens.
I did the 10.4.11 combo updater and deleted some plist files with no luck.
I too am having the same problem. The icon animates. The program opens and then locks up. Nothing but a cold boot will free it up. Also, any time the sync schedule kicks in, the machine gets a kernal crash. I sync .mac and a palm centro using missing sync.
Oh, and another thing. My .mac sync panel will not open in the system preferences module. WooWhooo! I love spending my spare time jinking computers around. I think this is a conspiracy to get me to switch to leapard.
My iSync works for years very well, till I installed a plugin to sync my GSM
I installed the Novameda Plugin 5.2. I did a sync with my SE K800i, everything works fine. My GSM shows all my iCal entries and Adresses.
After a restart I wasn't able to start iSync anymore. When I switch to another user on my MacBook iSync starts normal
I tried all the suggestion from other threads but it still won't start;
- deleting all the isync plist files. It still crashes.
- deleting ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local
Crashed means the followings. iSync start bouncing, while bouncing it opens iCal and the Mail-client. then you hear some background apps are working. In Background my MacBook Pro uses 80% performance (in
the Activity Menu WindowServer uses 70-80% and iSync 40-50% but the
iSync Icon their is red which means that their is no answer from the
applications. After more then 3-4 hours a message appaers that iSync has crashed
