Need to count a number of items within a date range

Am I missing something really simple with the COUNTIF function.

I have one table with a list of items and the date created.

I simply want to build another table that counts how many items were created in Jan 07, March 08 and so on...

Is there a way to combine two or more functions? I thought numbers was really simple and intuitive?

Hello

Here the way I was able to do what you asked for.

In English, the formula must be spelled

=COUNTIF(Tableau 1 :: B,"=1")

This is close but how do I combine month and year? If I do it the way you describe, I end up counting january for all 3 or 4 years. I think I'm trying to base the count on meeting two conditions for instance countif both month and year. How would I do that?
