Delete Original Audio in iMovie

I am a brand new Mac user so I'm sure this question is going to seem very obvious to most but . . .
I am working in iMovie and I added a music clip to play in the background. The problem is that the original audio plays right along with the new music clip I added. How do I delete the original audio so that all you hear is the music clip I added?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

The simplest solution will be to turn the volume on the video clip down (you can't delete it). Select the clip and choose the audio button from the middle of the screen, you can adjust the volume of the clip in the window that appears.

You may also wish to consider using ducking, which works by selecting the audio clip you have added, choosing the audio button and checking the ducking box in the window that appears. This will turn down every other track apart from the audio you have added, use the slider to select by how much. This method works better if you have multiple audio tracks or your added audio clip spans more than one video clip.
