MY iPOD keeps turning on and off!!!!

Reconnect the iPod to the computer and open iTunes.
Then restore the ipod software using the button in iTunes.

i'm having the same exact problem. it just keeps turning itself on and off over and over until the battery dies. it won't show up in itunes (or as an external drive) because the ipod (in my case) gets right up to the main menu sometimes but then shuts off a second later, so the computer doesn't even have time to recognize it. any bright ideas?

Either way, you need to find out if your warranty is still in effect (which you can find out when you follow the link). I did this and I have shipped my iPod and now I am waiting for it.=)

I put mine in disk mode. It would stay on when it was like that but as soon as I restored it my ipod started turning on & off again. I JUST bought this ipod classic & this happened right after I disconnected it from my computer for the first time. It really doesn't make sense. Anyway...is that really all I can do? I have to replace it? Also, I did wait for it to say it was safe to disconnect.

I just put my ipod into Disk mode, then restored it. It worked, its alive now 😀
I could also get backup of my musics inside it.
This method is strongly recommended to the others having such problem.
