ipod touch and bose sounddock 1 remote

Anybody with a sounddock (rev 1, not the new portable one) like to give me a list of the functions that the remote will control on the touch, has it changed since the ipod classic? I know its limited but wondered how the touch interface has changed the operation of the sounddock remote function?

Hey!
Me neither!
It seems strange you say the volume works on the remote but not much else.
No tips or tricks to proffer I'm afraid.Just placed my iPT in the SD and it worked(admittedly I was slightly surprised too.).
Hang on!Did you receive the correct dock insert for the iPT with the Bose SD?
As my Bose SD is pre 5Gen I never had the correct insert plus with an added case it wouldn't fit with an insert anyway. So i don't use any dock adaptor with my Touch.Just plug it straight onto the connector.
Might be the only thing making a difference.
Cheers,
Happy 2008

Hey!
Scott,
I tried the E-mail blag with Bose when I bought the 5th Gen.They even told anyone with a 5th Gen to do it......guess what? That's right, it never appeared!
Still it would be fruitless as i've already said, once a hard shell case is fitted it don't fit anyways!
Haveno probs with not using the SD without the insert though. My wife uses her 1st Gen Nano same way too!But that's cos it's mine and I only 'Allow' her use of it hahahahaha Bull Sheet!
Happy New Year

If your Nano G3 will only control Bose SoundDock volume...

If your Nano was updated to v 1.0.3 from a prior version it may not work with the Bose Sounddock. It appears only the Nano's that shipped from Apple with v1.0.3 will work.

Here's the scoop on the SoundDock remote not working exept for the volume. For Christmas I purchased my son a G3 Nano directly from Apple (the red one...it supports aids charities in Africa). I also purchased my wife one from Circuit City. My son's came with version 1.0.3 loaded from Apple. My wife's had to update from 1.0.2 through Itunes when I was setting it up. My son's worked perfectly with the SoundDock but only the volume control worked with my wife's unit. After much brain bashing, I determined that the upgrade version may have a problem, so I returned my wife's Nano to the retailer and ordered one directly from Apple. It arrived on New Year's eve and guess what, it worked perfectly with the Bose Sounddock. So lesson learned...if your Nano was 1.0.2 and was upgraded to 1.0.3, it may not work with the SoundDock. The native version from Apple works fine.
