Command and Conquer 3 for Mac is not supported on this architecture

I'm a new macbook pro owner so this may be something I'm doing wrong, but after following the installation instructions (+Drag the "Command and Conquer 3" icon to your Applications folder+). I get following message when I double click the icon in the Applications folder: "+You can't open the application 'Command and Conquer 3' because it is not supported on this architecture+". My MacBook Pro is a 2.4GB with a 256GPU, has any else had this problem or know how to install C&C3 to mac?

Thanks

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.1), 2.4 GB 256GPU

Thanks for your help Stefan, but I'm still getting the same problem here's what I've done:
1. I moved the original Command and Conquer 3.app file to the trash
2. Copied Command and Conquer 3.app from the MACDVD. note: when I finished the install the C&C3 app icon had a cross through it.
3. I then ran the Command and Conquer 3 1.08 Patch. note: C&C3 icon still has cross throught it.
4. I then ran the cider-CNC3-Update-660-to-798A.app Patch. note: still has cross.
5. Now I double click the C&C icon, and still get the architecture not supported message.

Am I missing any steps?

Thanks

Hi,

I admit I don't have the game so I am not sure if the 'copy app from DVD' approach is the correct way.
Is it possible that there is some sort of installer app that you need to run from DVD to install the game on the HD or is the copy-way the correct way ?

Another possibility is that you have to run the game with Administrator-Rights or at least during installation.

I've tried a few things:
1. I did check my rights, and I do have admin rights.
2. I thought that maybe my OS X 10.5 installation was bad so I did a complete reinstall. (didn't work)
3. So finally I did a "Show Package Contents" on the app file on my computer and on the MACDVD to see any differences, and the app is not being copied over correctly. One major difference were some files that were larger on my mac from the copy (12MB on the DVD versus 16MB on my mac).

Could this be a problem with the DVD, any clues???

Thanks again

well, i'm glad that i'm not the only one with this problem. i got it for christmas, so of course i tried opening it and playing immediately. this didn't work though. just for kicks, i had my friend try it on his macbook pro. exact same model. his, however, worked. and i KNOW for a fact that he didn't have the patches. i downloaded both 1.08 and 1.09, but neither of those appear to have helped too much. i'm going to bed in the hopes that perhaps tomorrow morning it will magically work.

if anyone finds a solution overnight, i would really appreciate it 🙂
