Akai EWI4000s as controller?

I have now an Akai wind controller and am having difficulty in setting LE8 to record the Akai's INTERNAL sound bank. It is attached to a USB E-MU1XMIDI 1X1 which is recognized by the Audio/MIDI set-up as using Port 1 in and out[I may not have this configure correctly-but that hopefuluy can be decided later. When I first plugged it all together I could access and hear any GB or sym-orch. instruments-but no response to the in- or decrease in volume I had been looking for. I realised that the Akai has it's own built in multi-synth,[?], and when played without the Mac, it's own instruments do have "Expression" possibilities breath control over amount of velocity AND volume, but only with headphones in the Akai, which also has MIDI in/out and a phono1/8 out. How do I configure LE8 so I can record the internal Akai instruments and hear, audition, them-I have already RTFMed-I looked at the LE8 Environment Window, thanks Apple for leaving the option available, and in clicks and ports there was the E-MU USB1X1 and so I cabled it through the same monitor as the USBKeyboard monitor to the sequencer and can see the increase numerically as I blow harder,no giggles please, but still haven't been able to set up a track that will allow me to hear through the Agregate Device,it has no midi instances as it's AUDIO,what I can see is going into the Enviroment monitor digitally. Your help is greatly appreciated and I Thank you in advance.

I think the question we both have, (from my reading) is that our synths are responding to the breath controllers as such. We get control over the sound based on how hard we blow, lip pressure, and other wind-y controls. The Controllers are sending all of that yummy data to the synth, and we can hear it through the headphones. Lovely.

How do we: A) get LE8 to respond to the wide range of data that the synth is able to handle?
B) Perhaps load the synth's voices and data recognition capabilities into LE8?

Yes, it's possible to just record the stereo output from the synth as a sonic performance, just as if we were playing an oboe into a microphone, but the hope is to use the wind controllers to play LE8 like an oboe, or a sax, or a trombone.

Any input is great, and thanks in advance.

Thanks synthblock for responding. I have a Behringer FCA202 Firewire Audio interface and it gets the analog signal from the EWi4000s's Line Out[i can hear it in the headphones] and the Behringer has a a/d converter, does Apple need to update Core Audio to handle digital audio input?
Trying to install SDK24 had no affect, i can hear what I'm playing and the track has the playhead moving along recording Midi but the audio record progress bar in floating window never starts to show anything being sent to the Audio bin of this Project. i am uncertain after RTFM's if Logic Express 8 can simultaneously record the internal synths sound on one audio track and the controller info on a VI track-anyone know???
