Hello, I was wondering if it was possible or any way to disable the Screen Sharing icon in the top menu bar so that the user is unaware of it. When I start viewing, it displays an icon and if you click on it it gives the option to disconnect and preferences for screen sharing, I'd like that to not be there at all, so it's like it's in the background not knowing it's there (screen sharing being on).
I'm fine with typing line in Unix if it's necessary as long as I get the line of code that is haha.
Thanks

Ok What about as far as keeping that icon off the menu bar permanently? Every time the computer turns on, like each session, the icon will reappear, and i have to actually manually remove it each time, anyway I can get it so that it doesn't appear at all, each time, so I don't have to keep removing it?
Some things are there to protect users' privacy. If you enable screen sharing and don't have some sort of visual to let the user know someone is connected, what happens in the case that someone you don't want is watching your screen?
It's called 'sharing' for a reason. =)
You might want to look into the 'Apple Remote Desktop' product if you need something more advanced. Not sure if it allows for this, but probably much more likely.
I assume that's because you have screen sharing enabled. If you disable it then that should stop. Use the Sharing preferences to turn off screen sharing.
Well I mean that I am aware of it still on (I turn it on) but while it's on, I don't even want it to be in the menu, at all. So when I do share screens, it's not evident.
