Attaching multiple files to email message

Attaching multiple files to email message

I used to be able to select multiple messages in Tiger and select attach at the bottom left of the screen, now when I select them in Leopard, I dont know how to actually attach them to the message. It works if you select just one file and double click it, but multiple files????

Any help!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean attaching emails to a new email, or attaching files from the finder to an email? Could you be more specific?

What are you seeing in the bottom left of your screen that lets you attach files? I can't think of anything off hand that fits this description.

The commonest method I use to attach a file (or files) is to just drag them from the desktop/Finder into the message window. That's always worked for me.

I'm sorry, I meant to say that I used to be able to select multiple FILES to attach to my emails, by selecting one and holding down the shift key and highlighting several others. The old version of the OS had a " attach files" icon that you would click on to select these files to attach.... NOW there is no icon.
What seems to work with single files that I want to attach is double clicking the selected file. This does not work when selecting multiple files to attach.

Sorry- once again I'm giving poor info.

I meant to say the bottom right of the screen used to have an icon to click on to attach file after it has been selected. Goes like this:

While in Mail:
Select new message
In the body of the message put the cursor.

At the top of the screen select attach

It takes you to the finder.

select the FILES you want.

now how do you attach them!!!

If you select one file, you can just double click it, and it is added, but not if you select multiple FILES!!!

It should work just like it has for you in the past. Create a new email. Click ATTACH. Then select the files you want. You can SHIFT click or COMMAND click to select them. Once you are done, click on the CHOOSE FILES button in the bottom right of the dialog box. They should be automatically inserted into the body of your email.

OIC. I see what you mean.

When you click the Attach button, you can use the Command/Apple key to select multiple items in the list. When they're all selected, clicking the 'Choose file' button will attach all the selected items to the message.

You can also select a folder, in which case Mail will silently zip the entire folder and attach it to the message.

There is no "choose file" button! That's what I am missing, I have moved the window etc and there isn't one!!!
