Is there a SUBST equivalent in Mac OS X?
Does Mac OS X have any equivalent procedure to achieve what SUBST does on a Windows system?

The OS doesn't use drive letters like MSDOS, so that functionality would not be present. Unix and OS X support 'aliases' and 'symbolic links.' Perhaps this is what you are looking for?
