I Can't Import CDs (Bit Rate Settings Incorrect)?

When trying to import the CDs I get the following message:

'The current encoder settings for bit rate and sample rate are not valid for this file'

What should they be and how do I change them?

Can't say for sure, but the reference to "sample rate" is suspicious. You may (intentionally or unintentionally) be using custom import settings with Sample Rate set to something other than "Auto."

Go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing. Set "Import Using" to either MP3 or AAC (your choice) and put "Setting" to 192 kb/s. Then "OK."

If that does not solve it, pls post back with the import settings you are using. Also, let us know whether you are seeing the problem on all CDs, or only on certain ones. Also, pls verify that you are talking about standard audio CDs.

I changed the seetings from 128 to 192, to change to 192 you have to use the custom set function. However I still have no joy importing any audio CDs. I also had a look at my Quick Time player where the bit rate settings were different.

?? - That is not how mine works. But since you are in custom, set sample rate to "Auto" and see if it helps.

I'm afraid that still isn't working. Have you got any other ideas, anything to do with Quicktime?

I have the exact same problem. It all started after I downloaded the latest version of QuickTime to use with Adobe Premier Elements. Anybody have a solution?
