Safari crashes on opening - Safari for windows

I just downloaded the Apple OS 10.4.11 software update which came with the new Safari 3 - it crashes exactly like yours - it won't start up at all.

Try removing this folder and retrying Safari ('Application Data' may be hidden, so make sure your Explorer settings are enabled for showing hidden files):

C:\Documents and Settings\YourAccountName\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari

Note that your bookmarks are stored in that folder, so move the 'Bookmarks' file onto your Desktop prior to deletion if you want to retain them.

It didn't fix the issue for me. I've uninstalled, reinstalled... Using the latest version of Safari for PC and Windows XP pro sp2 with latest round of updates...

This is the error message shown:

Me too! I encounted the same problem on my Windows XP Home Edition SP2(Simplified Chinese Version).

And the same error report:

The solution iBod provided seems no use for me either.

The crash just happened yesterday, and before then, safari ran well on my computer.

What happened?

I also have this problem but the folder doesn't exist.

Hi, everyone! Yesterday I tried to delete some fonts in my windows XP, and Safari worked again. I don't know why, those fonts were all Latin fonts, not Chinese fonts.

Same here. Safari crashes after recent apple update. tried deleting the application data stuff - no change.

Apple - are you getting this ? is there an official rep here to assist ?

Try the new Safari 3.0.5 for Windows. It is published on http://developer.apple.com site. Downloading this version requires free registration.

I am using the ADC version on Vista x64. Works fine. Maybe your problem isn't really just Safari.

Ever since I updated to the newest beta Safari hasn't been working for me.

Does anyone have a download for the older version?

I've got exactly the same problem as desribed above: Safari crashes on startup on my WinXP pro sp2 machine. As long as the official download on the Apple-site doesn't work, I won't use Safari on Windows. Too much hassle.

Was having the same problem since installing Vista SP1 beta. Just downloaded the latest Safari beta(3.0.5) and all is good again. Found the beta at:
