QUESTION ABOUT THE RME FIREFACE 400

For some reason the fireface 400 will just mute on play back for no reason. It will work and then just out of no where mute ( no sound will come out). But when I turn it off and then turn it back on it works fine for a bit but then mutes the audio again. Anybody with this product have an issue like that?

I have a 400, and from memory when I first started configuring it, I think that the midi keys on your keyboard are doing this (sending commands to the mixer)

There is a setting tne Mixer or one of the RME apps where you turn this off. I think one of the menus has a checkmark on it enabling this 'feature' Midi thru or something like that.

Not in front of my Mac right now - but don't worry, there is a simple fix for this. The 400 works like a charm.

Might try

well, could be something in the midi stream where it is interpreting it as a command for the mixer?

When that happened to me, I was actually working on getting my Keystation Pro 88's knobs and faders to control the RME mixer - as well as have buttons and sliders in the environment control the mixer.

I'm sorry, but it was so long ago that I worked on getting mine set up. I remember having strange things happen like that, and there was a simple fix.

But, do check the mixer's menus, and see if anything has a checkmark beside it that you didn't put there.

If all else fails, you can contact http://www.synthax.com/ in the U.S. by phone - they used to have free support, but I think they cut this down to 30 or 90 days.
