Free URL Extractor / Download from URL?

Whenever I want to download something from a URL, I type in a link on a messageboard and "save as" from the link. Is there a free program that you can input the URL of the file to download. I saw URL Extractor, but it carries a $45 price tag and only works with 10.4 & later. I need something for Panther.

Thank you!

Wget is your solution. It is a Downloader built-in most Linux Distros, so it is free as open Source, here somebody has written an Interface for OS X for it, and it is also free.

If you install X11 and the Developer Tools on your Panther System ( from the CDs ) you can compile and run most of the free Unix/Linux software on OS X.

+For Jaguar Systems there is Xfree86 available, which does basically the same ( allow Linux apps ).+
