Prevent time-stretch when changing BPM

Hi there,

I recently recorded someones vocals over a track I was given from a CD. I didnt care to change BPM settings in my logic project because I already had a backing track that didnt need any additional midi tracks or other instruments. The BPM was set to 120bpm, standard. Now I decided I do want to create some new beats over this but when I change the project BPM to 166 (which is the true BPM of the track) all my vocal tracks are time-stretched and messed up.

How do I prevent this time stretch? I already tried pasting the audio tracks to a new project with 166bpm but that didnt work either. Thanks in advance for your help.
