Switching Sims

is it possible to take out the iPhone sim card and put it in another phone. I use my iphone but sometimes I get so bored of it it is lacking a lot of features. I have a great LG Shine that has 3G support. I want to use it in that. Is it possible?

I am sure it is if your sim is registered and your phone is registered. Im considering switching to my shine till iPhone 2 comes out. Unless apple releases some updates with lacking features.

iMac G5, iPhone, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

I just talked to AT&T and they told me I could switch the SIM from the iPhone to a Samsung a117 (cool looking simple phone). I wanted to do that so I could have my contacts with me at work so I wouldn't have to worry about my iPhone around heavy equipment and being outside in the cold. HOWEVER, they said that if I tried to switch it back to the iPhone from the Samsung, it wouldn't work. does anyone know if this is true, or if there is a different (and still cheap) phone that i could go back and forth with seamlessly?
