change the dollar key to u.k pound

Hey guys,

Im having problems changing the $ key to a u.k pound key, any ideas as im pulling what hair i have left out.

Do you not get the £ sign when you do Option + 3?

If you go to system prefs/international/input menu, you can uncheck Australian (or whatever is already checked) and check the box for British. Then you will get £ at Shift + 3. Will that work for you?

If you want to make the £ sign with the US keyboard layout, the keystrokes are Option + 3.

If you are not using the US keyboard layout, let us know which one, and we can give you different advice.

I purchased my computer in New Zealand, and they set it up in store for me and now that i have returned to the u.k i cant seem to change my number 4 $ key so it will bring up the british pound sign.
