Spaces Vs. Screen Sets LP8

I've been using spaces in Leopard with LP8 instead of screen sets. I'm using a 20in Imac and 20in Cinema Display and 12 spaces. Each space has two monitors in a sense. Space 1:2 Mixer windows scrolled to different positions Space 2: 2 Arrange windows scrolled to different positions. other spaces for plugin windows. Using control and arrow keys it's a breeze to fly around to different spaces. It reminds of the fader banks my Mackie Control but faster.

I can't live without virtual desktops, I've been using them since Unix days back in the nineties, when I first discovered them. Currently I've been using Codetek's Virtual Desktop Pro set to have 8 workspaces, and I really like it.

Leopard's Spaces as far as I can see has less functionality than I'm used to, but it will do the basic job.

The downside to having all Logic windows open in different windows, unlike screensets, is that the windows are open all the time, so every edit window etc is scrolling and updating all the time, which can be a performance issue. However, it might make sense to utilise your workspaces in a way that most makes sense for you.

I tend to use them to segregate out my screens so different applications or groups of applications are together. So I might have my email client open in another workspace, a full screen text editor in another, safari in another. some finder windows in another, and so on. It's a much better way of managing multiple applications than window juggling or hiding.

Virtual desktops - love 'em...

But I still use screensets, and keep Logic in one workspace, in the main.
