Tried Everything No Sound in Safari

Hi all and Happy Xmas

I am having problems with sound in Safari. Whenever I watch youtube now or my children use flash games there is no sound. System sound works fine and in iTunes etc, no problem.

Not sure if this coincided with a software update or installing toolplayer which I have since moved to trash.

I have tried:

Software update
Repairing permissions
Uninstalling and reinstalling flash player 9 (and repairing permissions again)
Emptied trash
Reset Safari
Looked everywhere in Safaris menus for mention of sound

Have no reached the end of my tether! And I want to show someone this video I created:

Any ideas anyone?

Hi

Welcome to Apple Discussions

Your Sound settings may have changed.

Go to your Utilities folder. Select Audio MIDI Setup.app. Audio Devices panel - right side output settings ought to be 44100 hz, 2 channel 16 bit. Sliders to the far right.

Restart your computer. If that doesn't restore the sound, open GarageBand if it is installed on your system.

Let me know if that brings your sound back.
