Getting Scratches off Screen

I bought a case for my iPod Nano 1G but a bit of grit got under the screen protector and scratched up the screen and the protector. It's not bad enough that I want to order something to get the scratches off but it is kinda annoying. Is there anything I might have laying around the house to get the scratches off?

Dell Dimension XPS, Windows XP, I want a MacBook real real bad.

Huh. Well, I don't have any Brasso around. Do you think Turtle Wax would work?

The point is, you can buy Brasso anywhere (grocery store, etc.) and it is cheap.
Turtle wax might hide some of the scratches but won't remove them. Brasso will actually buff out scratches with enough time and gentle buffing.
