Parrot Easy Drive

I have the Parrot MK6000 and all I had to do was to download the latest update from Parrot. You may try that.

Just bought that Parrot CK3100. Works peachy in my car with iPhone. The voice dialing works ok as well, BUT: How can I get Parrot to offer the "different numbers" which I have stored in "one" contact.
For example: "Susi" privat-work-mobile.
Any clue?

Why yes, I know how to update the Parrot's firmware. Thanks for asking.

First find a laptop running Windows XP that has bluetooth and runs Windows XP, is all up-to-date, and isn't full of malware. I used a ThinkPad T41p. I also had to download and install the bluetooth software from Lenovo and turn on the bluetooth radio, but that's another story.

Then get the fine manual, here:

Read the manual, and follow the directions. I've elaborated below, based on my particular experience.

Then download and install the Parrot update tool, here:

http://www.parrot.com/usa/support/downloads

Install it, run it, and follow the directions through the point where you download the image for your particular Parrot model (3200LS Color in my case). Remember where it stores the image file.

Now take your laptop to your car, and proceed with the update procedure. You can restart the update tool if you like, and get the image from your disk instead of downloading, so you don't need the Internet in your car.

Following the fine manual, you start up the Parrot unit (typically by starting your car), use the Parrot's Setting menu to start the software upgrade, pair with the laptop, and after a few minutes of bluetooth data transfer, the unit will reset itself, go blank for a couple minutes, then spring to life running the new software. It is probably a VERY BAD THING to turn off your car after the download while the Parrot unit is blank, running it's actual update. But the manual is not very clear on this point.

My idiot laptop went to sleep during my first upgrade attempt, and aborted the download. Luckily this is not fatal, and I made it work the second time around by putting the laptop power/sleep setting in "presentation" mode.

Maybe this procedure would work running Windows inside VmWare or Parallels, but I had a real PC, so why look for trouble. Maybe someday Parrot will make actual Mac software.

And the best part is, after the upgrade, my 3200LS Color now works with my iPhone.

Make sure you have recorded all you keywords, Then say phone, then the name you are calling, wait one second, Then you will hear a beep, then say either home or work or cell, make sure you phone has phone numbers listed as home, work, cell when it transfers the phone book you should see a picture of a house, cell,or building.

I tried exactly that. I did record all those names like phone etc at first, but after pressing the green dial button, It does not accept the command "phone". All I can do is call out "a name", and then it starts dialing the first number of that particular name, although that name has several numbers in store, like home-work-mobile etc....
Maybe an "iPhone-Parrot" issue. ?!?!?!

Really sorry, but can't tell you exactly at this time. My car-stereo shop installed it for me.
I remember that they just hooked it up, and the recognition went all by itself. But once done, it does work.

My iphone doesn't work with the Parrot 3200-LS color, either. It pairs up, but no sound comes out of the Parrot's speaker when I take a call. This unit worked OK with my RAZR.

The iPhone only supports bluetooth head set nothing else. You can't even transfer data between phone and computer via bluetooth.

These Parrot devices are car kits that work with the headset profile to provide hands-free voice. Data is not an issue.

Data is an issue if you want to transfer GPS data....

I installed the Parrot CK3200 Color LS and it works great with all features. The voice dial is a great asset on the road.

How did you get your CK3100 to work with your iPhone. Mine will not pair up?
