Griffin car adaptor

Hey guys, I'm new here and just got an I touch. I'm so in love with it, the touch has not left my side. Anyways, I also got a griffin car adaptor that is a couple of years old.

In the box it lists all of the ipods except the touch because it wasn't out then. My question is, should I try and use it with my touch? I don't want to ruin it (i've heard some stories about this) or should I take it to the store and ask them if its compatible.

PS: return is not an option because the person that got me the adaptor got it from e-bay.
