Aperture is crashed regularly on my macbook pro during adjustment. Reinstalled software multiple times, including OS. It is rock solid, until I start making adjustment, when I'm adjusting images it crashes like every 20 minutes. Is it normal behavior of Apple software?
Nope. I've had like 15 crashes in 2 years of use of Aperture. And, 14 of those happened on a single day... I think when 10.4.10 came out or something and I had some real crasher issues with the ATI X1900XT video driver.
Ordinarily it doesn't crash. What's in the crash report?
In fact it happened even often before 10.4.11. 10.4.11 added some element of stability 😟. Again if I just go through images - there is no problem. I've tried enable-disable preview generation. Seems no significant difference...
I would suspect so as well - seems NVIDIA drivers not only slower than ATI but also far less stable 😟. Only thing I don't see any related complains from others. Either nobody else uses Mac Book Pro, either everybody else considers such behavior as normal 😟.
I bet the same crashes don't happen with Leopard on that machine. There are updated drivers in 10.5. However, upgrading to Leopard can have other challenges -- e.g. updated printer drivers and other software issues (though I've personally had good luck).
