Quicktime failed to initialize error -2096

Ever since I upgraded to the newest version of Itunes, it won't open anymore. I get this message: QT failed to initialize error -2096, please reinstall QT. I've done all this & still not working. Any suggestions cause I have reinstalled Itunes & QT so many times & its not working!!!!!

Try this one,

Right-click on the QuickTimePlayer application (located in C:\Program Files\QuickTime) and choose Properties from the shortcut menu.
In the Properties window, click on the Compatibility tab
Deselect the checkbox labeled "Run this program in compatibility mode for."
Click Apply.
Close the Properties window.
It did NOT help for me though!! Next I´ll try to download the old version of itunes.

Same problem. I uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime, but I was unable to run the iTunes 7.4.3/Quicktime 7.3.1 installers from Apple, but I happened to have a iTunes 7.1 installer on my computer, which seems to work. Pretty long step backwards, but I never really needed the new features (not watching TV Shows or Movies on my computer, just want to download pod casts).

The OS of my computer Windows 2003 Server SP1
