JVC Everio GZ-MG130 and importing

I have been reading around and have realized I wanted a minidv camera for xmas....I got a HDD camera instead. Im not complaining...but I know how frustrated people have been getting with the problems with HDD cameras...ive heard you have to convert the .mod or whatever format to .mov and the import and only sometimes does the audio transfer right....

Well I have 1 day left until I can no longer return this (by the 26th) and I found this:

http://media2.jvc.com/camcorder/macG.mov

Is it really that easy? It works just like a minidv camera...only better..in my experience with them they always import dozens of small clips instead of one solid chunk...that tutorial shows it so easy...

I might be getting ilife 08 soon and i tinker with my friends Final Cut...so I guess the question applies to many editing softwares.

Can anyone tell me from experience if it is really like that? If it is I would love to not return it...HDD cameras just seem so much more convenient. Unless someone can argue why to get a minidv...im all ears.

EDIT: I guess I just realized my version (MG130) does not come with the dock that is in that tutorial video. I wonder if this specific version isn't compatible because there is no dock. I cant even find a separate dock to buy...
