assuming you have an IMAP email account set up on your iphone, the to do list which you have created in Leopard Mail and which shows up in ical under your email account calendars, will show up on the iphone in a mail folder titled "Apple To do". Go to your IMAP email account and you will find it with the other mail folders.
Thanks for your help. Sounds weird for the iCal ToDo list to appear in e-mail!
I did not have an e-mail account set up so I did set up a gmail account but it did not let me set it up as IMAP only as a POP account. This worked as e-mail on the iPhone but no sign of an "Apple to go" folder after a sync or 2. Any more thoughts appreciated.
that will not work with a POP account. You need an IMAP account. Have you made sure to enable IMAP in your gmail settings, in your gmail account, over the web?
to be clear: you can create to dos in ical and you can create to dos in Mail. The to dos created in Mail will show up in ical - much like the to dos created in ical of course. The to dos created in Mail will also show up on your iphone under an IMAP account in a folder titled "Apple Mail to dos" - even if the account is an IMAP gmail account mind you.
I tried to change settings to IMAP on my gmail and, after a lot of searching, found the following - "Please note that at this time, IMAP support is only available through the English US Help Centre. " I am in the UK so cannot set up my gmail for IMAP yet.
I use Entourage mail and did try using their task function but no joy. I will have to use a pad of paper for now!
To dos created in ical then show up in the mac mail to dos. Will these to dos (originally created in ical and showing up in the mail to do list) synch with iphone as well as those to dos create originally in mail? I use omnifocus and it synchs with ical and ical then with mail. If all goes well these to dos will then show up in iphone via mail???
Thank you so much!!. I have been trying to find a way to sync a to do list between my mac and the iPhone. Did now know about mail and IMAP. Works perfectly!!!
My to do list appears in mac mail account on my mac book just fine, and syncs changes with iCal to do list both ways, but is nowhere to be found on my iPhone. The "Apple mail to do" folder is visible on iPhone, but it is empty. Any thoughts?
I have the same problem as others here i can get my to-do's to sync with mail but only the to-do's stored on my mac, not the ones stored on gmail:imap as a result the will not store on imap. I do not know how to do this, does anyone else?
* Apple puts a "Notes app" on the iPhone, that you can't update via your Apple computer.
* Apple puts a "To Do List" feature on your computer's iCal application that you can't update via the ICal app on the iPhone.
*The Apple iCal "To Do List" appears inside Mail application, assuming you think to look there and have your settings done just-so. Hey, why not go the whole hog and make it accessible only via shortwave radio?
I defy Steve Jobs to use Apple iCal and the other scheduling items for a full week -- without benefit of support staff -- for all of his personal & business appointments. Let's see how he likes it.
That all makes sense to use the to-dos from Mail. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get tasks from Entourage into the iPhone. I have my calendar synced from Entourage to iCal and iPhone. That works without issue. The problem now is if I create a follow-up to an email item, it shows up in the Calendar under Entourage and in my Entourage Calendar under iCal. There doesn't appear to be a way to sync this to the phone. Anyone have a suggestion on this?
I have the same problem. I just use webapp ichecklist and make my list on the iphone. Maybe it will help with at least the shopping list issue. Doesn't sync with my computer (as far as I know) but it works for shopping at least.
