Using Logic AU Plugins in Live?

Hello!

Ableton Live is compatabile with AU Plugins, Is it Possible to use these plugins within another DAW such as ableton's Live

I don't see why this wouldn't work, if anyone out there is using logics AU plugins in live or knows whether or not this is possible, a quick response would be very much appreciated!!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

You can use them- just go to the plug in side of Ableton and open up the ones that are not actually part of Ableton, I think they are the one directly under the icon that looks like a plug.

I should tell you, though, that Logic's instruments and effects (such as the convolution reverb and Guitar Amp Pro) won't be found that way. I don't know of any way to use them with Ableton. What you can use are OSX's built in effects, (which really aren't bad) as well as any third party AU, like Absynth or Guitar Rig or something.

Logic does not have any plugins as such - it's instruments and FX, though they look and behave similarly to third-party plugins, are built-in the Logic's code. They are not AU plugins, they are not available to OSX and they are not available in other plugins.

You can of course route audio/MIDI to Logic from external sources or applications, rewire, virtual audio drivers and so on into Logic and therefore to it's FX, but you cannot divorce Logic's "plugins" from Logic.
