QuickTime 7.3.1 hangs with Parallels installed
QuickTime player 7.3.1 on Leopard hangs when I start the QT by double
clicking on its icon in /Applications. After a small, white window appears
and is replaced by a larger black window, QT hangs with a beachball and
needs to be Force Quit to shut it down.
Working with AppleCare, I've determined that this is caused by some
kind of interaction with Parallels. If I remove the Parallels and Parallels
Transformer folders from /Library/StartupItems, QuickTime starts
correctly, else it hangs as above.
Has anyone else seen this problem who either knows a fix or could share a
workaround other than deinstalling Parallels?
I am running Mac OS 10.5.1, QT Player 7.3.1, and Parallels Desktop 3.0,
build 5582.
